The presiding pastor of
the Victory Community Baptist Church, Rumuomasi, has advocated for a programme that will protect children from abuse by older members of the society.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after a thanksgiving service as part of activities marking the children day pastor Bagudu said that Nigerian children must be protected against all forms of abuse.
The cleric condemned child labour and trafficking and stressed the need for parents to go for family planning to avoid having children they cannot cater for.
In the Boko Haram visit the man of God who predicted an end to the crisis however urged the Federal Government to be courageous in the fight against terrorism in the country.
He said that apart from being courageous, the government must be proactive in tackling security issue, noting that the church on its part will continue to pray for the release of the abducted Chibouk girls still being held by Boko Haram.
In his sermon, the man of God listed areas that are necessary for moral upbringing of children and cautioned children against involvement in cultism and other of anti social vices as doing so will lead to untimely death as well as bring shame to their families.
A cross section of worshippers at the service also for more action by government against child abuse and other acts being perpetrated against children in the society.
