RSSDA Begins Construction Of Hostels For WTTC Students

The Rivers State Sustainable
Development Agency (RSSDA) has performed a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of hostel accommodations for students of the Workmanship Technical Training Centre (WTTC), Bori.
The Executive Director of the Agency, Mr Noble Pepple,  said that the initiative was to provide students of the centre with a conducive environment for learning.
Mr Pepple also said that Workmanship Technical Training Centre (WTTC) was initiative by the present administration in the state to fill the gap created by the absence of skill technicians in the state.
The Executive Director who was represented by the General Manager Human Capital Development RSSDA, Mr Godwin Poi, said that the project would attract more students to the centre as many have turned down their offers for admission into the centre in the past due to lack of hostel accommodation.
He commended the Khana local government council for supporting the agency through the provision of land for the project and restated the commitment of the agency towards the completion of the project on schedule.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Mr. Gregory Nwidam thanked the agency for its choice of Bori to site the centre, stressing that the council was ready to partner with it to ensure the success of the programme.
The council chairman, who was represented by his deputy, Hon. Barile Innocent Nwilo, urged for the immediate commencement of work on the project to check further encroachment.
He also urged the students to be of good behavior as the police will not hesitate to arrest any of them found to be of doubtful character.
Earlier, the Centre Manager WTTC, Mr. Armstrong Amorro, restated the commitment of the WTTC management to give world-class skills training programme to the society.
Speaking on behalf of the students, Mr Pepple Macfred (JR), thanked the agency for the project and pledged the support of students.
