The new Caretaker Committee Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, Gbenelekue Zini has pledged to address all aspects of security in the area.
Zini, said this while addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters which turned out to receive him at Gwara his home town.
He said that kidnapping, robbery and other crimes, particularly in Bori, the council headquarters, will be squarely addressed.
The council boss who was a former chairman of Khana Youth Council also told cultists to keep off Khana in their own interest.
Zini who refused to disclose his strategy said that, his Administration will not tolerate any form of lawlessness in the area, stressing the various security Agencies will be encouraged to comb the nooks and crannies of the area to fish out cultists and other criminals.
“I want to tell the youth that as the Caretaker Chairman of Khana Local Government Council, I am wearing a government face. Any of you who want to continue in his old way, should know that, I am no longer the chairman of Khana youth council” he warned.
He also pledged to carry every segment of the council along in the scheme of things and commended Governor Nyesom Wike for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Khana.
Zini assured that his administration will sensitise the people on the policies and programmes of the Government and sued for their cooperation.
A cross section of stakeholders who spoke at the ceremony said that, Governor Wike has made a wise decision in the appointment of Zini to lead the council this time around and pledged their support.
