The Deputy Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Leyii Kwanee has urged Rivers youths to give unflinching support to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi in this critical moment of his political career.

Speaking at a dinner in Port Harcourt organised to mark ?his birthday which was ?witnessed by youths drawn from across the state  the Deputy Speaker described Governor Amaechi as a Rivers patriot whose vision is to uplift the living standard of the average Rivers man.

The Deputy Speaker who is also the member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the Assembly, advised the leadership of  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level to disregard those who are feeding it with wrong information that they can do without the governor.

He said that the governor is very strong and will remain strong at the grassroots in the state.

This, he said Governor Amaechi’s opponents have admitted and that is why they are embarking on grassroots mobilisation which they lacked.

Continuing, the Deputy Speaker who is also the Chairman, Parliamentary Exchange and Mentorship Programme of the Pan African Parliament, said that the option left for PDP, if they are interested in Rivers State,  is to intervene and have amicable solution, adding that those parading themselves as high and mighty in the state are paper tigers.

Hon. Kwanee implored the youths to go to their wards, communities, villages and charge those at the grassroots to remain steadfast with the Governor Amaechi whose achievements  speak volume for him.

He said that time has gone when Rivers people were deceived with propaganda, pointing out that Rivers people know those who are sincere in the cause of the Rivers man.

The Deputy Speaker appealed to the Abuja based politicians to bring back their excess wealth and establish small and medium scale industries as done by wealthy men in other states to complement the state government’s policy on creation of employment rather than use the wealth to fight the state government.
