Over 300 delegates are expected at Amadi-Ama, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State from tomorrow to Sunday, 8th May, 2016, for the 1st session of the 5th Synod of the Diocese of Okrika Anglican Communion.
Speaking to newsmen on activities lined up for the event, the Chairman, publicity Sub-Committee for the Synod, Ms Medline Tador, said that registration of delegates for the event will commence on Thursday, 5th of May, 2016 Saturday, 7th of May 2016 is for presidential address and launching of the address, while Sunday, 8th May, 2016, will witness the thanksgiving service.
She said that the synod, which has as its theme” ‘Behold I Come Quickly”, will be presided over by the Bishop of the Diocese, Rt. Rev. Tubokosime Abere, while the Bishop of Lokoja, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Egbenu, is the guest preacher.
Tador also said that Bishop from sister dioceses both within and outside the state will attend the synod.
The Chairman, Publicity Sub-Committee, said that the event will provide opportunity for parishioners to reflect on the happenings in the society, and attributed the tremendous growth of the diocese to the able leadership of the Bishop and the contributions of parishioners.
She also commended the media for its continuous support to the diocese.
