Two suspected members of a cult group which has been terrorizing Oyorokoto in the Andoni Local Government Area have been killed by men of the Nigerian Navy.
Similarly men of the Nigerian Mobile Police stationed at Ngo have also arrested four suspected cultists.
Sources from Andoni Local Government Council, told The Tide that the two suspected cultists were killed when they opened fire on  a naval gun boat close to the shores of Oyorokoto.
The source said that the situation resulted in a gun battle between the Navy and their assailants resulting in the death of  the two.
The Tide learnt that, one of the suspected cultists died instantly from the gun shots, while the second died later as a result of injuries sustained during the gun battle.
The Tide further learnt that some buildings in the community used by the criminals as hideouts have also been burnt by the security personnel.
Similarly, four suspected cultists were arrested by mobile Police Officers stationed at Ngo, headquarters of Andoni Local Government Area.
A high ranking officer in the Administration of Andoni Local Government Council who confirmed the arrest in the interview with The Tide, said that the four were among several others now at large who attacked the Divisional Police Office at Ngo.
The Officer, who spoke under condition of anonymity, said that the security agencies were being encouraged to extend their dragnets across communities in the area with a view to fishing out more criminals.
According to him, the council will not relent in ensuring that those responsible for the killing of innocent people and destruction of properties in the area were brought to book.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ahmed Mohummed in a reply to a text message sent to him on the issue, said that he can only speak for the Police.
Effort made to reach the Navy Public Relations Officer on the issue however proved abortive.
