The Rivers Leadership Advancement Foundation (RIVLEAF), an association of ex-Rivers student union leaders, has charged Rivers people to be prepared for one man, one vote in 2015.
National President of the foundation, Hon Alex Wele, who gave the charge during the inauguration of the Bonny chapter of the foundation at the weekend in Bonny, also said that the governor was bound to complete his four years of the present tenure.
Hon Wele urged the people to secure their voters cards ahead of 2015 as the on-going crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party was nothing, but the control of the soul of the state in 2015.
The national president, who is also a Special Adviser to the Governor, however said that the antics of Abuja-based politicians would not distract the governor from consolidating on the peace and infrastructural development of the state.
He argued that having expended so much energy and resources in the development of the state, what Governor Chibuike Amaechi needed from the people in the face of the on-going crisis was total support from the people.
Hon Wele charged the Bonny chapter of the foundation to see its task as that of mobilising the people of the area to support good governance and disclosed plans by RIVLEAF to also include in its fold secondary school students.
He further charged youths in Bonny to desist from being used as instrument of destruction by greedy politicians in the area.
Barrister Dan Hailsham, in his keynote address, described the inauguration as timely as it was important for rural folks to begin to appreciate what Governor Amaechi had done.
Hailsham said that the state chief executive had displayed excellent leadership qualities that were unique in the state.
In his lecture on good governance, Dr Fubara Dan Jumbo urged the foundation to continue with its campaign of good governance across every nooks and crannies of the state.
He also assured that the people of Bonny would give their total support to the administration.
