Some members of the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State, have petitioned the state party executives over their neglect by elected and political leaders from the area.
A copy of the petition made available to The Tide and jointly signed by Pop Peli Adaotu and Peaben Osila Rockteller alleged that they are being neglected by those they have worked for during the elections.
The members who referred to themselves as aggrieved PDP members Abua/Odual Chapter however, pledged their loyalties and support to the party.
They stated that the quick intervention by the state party executives will calm frail nerves as well as bring all members together with a view to moving the party forward.
“We must categoriacally state here, our faith in the party is dwindling due to the trend of events in the party. The PDP should also inform all to unite the party,” they said.
They stressed the need for a meeting between the aggrieved PDP members, the Deputy Speaker, Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Marshall Uwom and Hon. Betty Apiafi to iron out the problem and proffer solutions to them.
When contacted on phone the State Secretary of the party, Hon. Ibibia Walter confirmed that the party has received the petition and is working hard to resolve the issue.
