Politicians Will Not Influence Decisions Of Egi Chieftaincy Stool – Chiefs

The Egi Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs says it would not allow politicians to influence decisions concerning the Eze Egi Chieftaincy Stool.
The council which said this at a meeting  held palace Akabuka in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, also appointed the Eze Etiti I of Egi, HRH London Obuyebe as the new Regent of Egi Kingdom.
The council described as untraditional,  the purported attempt by the Egi Peoples Assembly to appoint a committee to look into the occupation of the Egi Chieftaincy Stool, stressing that tradition forbids such committee for now, until the late Eze Egi had been mourned for a year.
The council also vowed to resist all moves by anyone who is not a chief, from vying for executive position in the Egi Council of Chiefs and Traditional Rulers.
Meanwhile, the Egi Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs has appointed the Eze Etiti I of Egi HRH Eze London Obuyebe as the new Regent of Egi Kingdom.
Eze Obuyebe’s   Regency   will last for a year during  which the Kingdom would have traditionally completed the mourning for the late Eze Egi HRM Kingdom Elenwa who died June 17, 2015.
The new chairman of  the Egi Council of Traditional Rulers and Chiefs,  HRH Eze (Dr) Jonathan Nwaogbidi said that the Eze Etiti I of Egi, is traditionally competent to act as regent of the Kingdom until a new  Eze Egi is instructed.
He pledged the support of the council of Chiefs  to the Egi Regent and also urged the people of Egi to give him full support
Speaking with newsmen, the Eze Etiti I of Egi HRH Eze London Obuyebe described the council’s decision as a welcome development and pledged to work for the development of Egi land.
Also speaking, the crown prince of Egiland, Prince Chika Elenwa also described the decision as a welcome development and called for the support of all.
