Following the resolu
tion of the nine years of factional crisis in the chieftaincy institution in Andoni, by the Court of Appeal Port Harcourt, the Andoni Council of Traditional Rulers has extended an olive branch to all the chiefs in the area to join it in the task of building Andoni.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Port Harcourt had on the 17th of November 2014 declared the rival Andoni Chief council an illegal entity.
However in its first meeting after the judgement at Ngo, the chairman of Andoni Council of Traditional Rulers, HRM Uboon (Dr) U.D. Ngere said that the council is extending its hands of fellowship to everybody: “now that we are victorious, we should extend our hands of fellowship to everybody. Let there be peace in Andoni as there is no gain in trouble making.
“Let us come together to make Andoni a better place that we can be proud of,” he said.
Uboon Ngere who is also the Okan-Ama of Ngo also directed all chiefs in the area to identify with their various divisions with a view to ensuring proper documentation.
Also speaking, the Okan-Ama of Unyeada, HRH King Israel Otuo said that peace has returned to the Andoni chieftaincy institution.
King Otuo also urged all chiefs to register with their various divisions to ensure proper recognition and acceptance.
Also speaking, the Okan Ama of Ayama Agana, HRH A. M. Edegwuile described the Andoni Council of Traditional Rulers as the apex chieftaincy body in Andoni stressing that everyone must join hands to move Andoni foreward.
Meanwhile, the chairman caretaker committee of Andoni Local Government Council, Evangelist Emmanuel Ikwut has charged the chiefs to use the Appeal Court Judgement to consolidate upon the existing peace in the area.
Represented by Engr. Michael Gogo Ebirien Agana he stressed the need for them to educate their subjects on the need for peace n Andoni.
