try of Youth Development has pledged its readiness to partner with the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) to promote sustainable peace in the state.
The Commissioner, Sir Owene Wonodi who said this during a courtesy call in his office by the head of peace/conflict resolution of the Command also advised the people particularly the youths against being used as tools for the destabilization of their communities.
He commended the giant strides recorded by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in the state, stressing that the ministry will continue to work with them for the promotion of sustainable peace across the various communities in the state.
Wonodi thanked them for the visit and asked them to list out areas that require the support of the ministry.
Also speaking, the Director, Youth Mobilisation in the ministry, Mrs Kejeh Ruhuoma Chinedu urged for synergy between the Command and the various registered youth bodies in the state to drive home their planned Peace/Conflict Resolution campaign.
In his address, the Head, Peace/Conflict Resolution Nigeria Security and Civil, Defence Corps Rivers State, Dr Ogbonna O. Emma said that the courtesy call was aimed at fostering cordial relationship between the State Government, her citizens and the Command in the maintenance of peace in the state.
Dr Emma, however, listed the challenges facing the Command to include shortage of manpower, financial constraint and appealed for support.
