2.5bn People Lack Access To Sanitation Facilities

About 2.5 billion
people across the world lack access to adequate sanitation facilities while 3000 children die daily of diarrhea, world health statistics has revealed.
Quoting the statistics during the foundation laying ceremony of a water project at the Archdeacon Crowther Memorial Girls School (ACMGS) Elelenwo last week, the president Rotary club of Port Harcourt District 9140 Rotarian Frank Eni said that it is against this background that the club is addressing the sanitation and water needs of communities across the world.Rotarian Eni said that the project is designed to give communities ability to develop and maintain sustainable water and sanitation system and support studies related to water and sanitation.
He said that the choice of ACMGS Elelenwo was to ensure that the students have access to adequate sanitation and water.
The Rotary President used the occasion to call on the management of the school to ensure proper up keep of the facilities.
Bishop Evo Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Rt. Hon. Innocent Ordu thanked the club for the choice of the school for the project which he said will help to improve sanitation in the school.
The Bishop who was represented by the Chaplain, Rev. Canen Kingsley Ohajianya urged for the citing of more projects in the school.
